ST.ANNES

The current station booking hall, was officially opened in September 1986, by Frank Jones who was the Area Passenger Manager in Preston.  Without doubt, St. Annes is the busiest station along the South Fylde line and attracts consistently high numbers of passengers throughout the year. Currently, Safeway superstores have submitted plans to significantly enlarge their existing premises, and part of that plan includes a petrol station.  If that part of the scheme materialises it may be necessary to locate the station building closer to the Crescent Bridge.
