Nettleton POULTON In common with Lytham, Poulton was a regular winner of the best kept station award and was recognised for its floral displays in the shape of hanging baskets. However, unlike Lytham, much of the station has remained intact, including the canopy roof which is of a type that is becoming an increasingly rare sight. Thankfully, Railtrack have confirmed that they will carry out overdue repairs, although no timescale has been specified. Below is a passenger train, locomotive hauled, slowly trundelling off the freight only spur from Fleetwood. It was a special enthusiast excursion that went as far as the I.C.I. complex.

A short length of track has been replaced adjacent to Poulton No.3 signalbox, and now Class 56 locomotive 56032 is seen shunting its rake of wagons, discharging ballast and the track gang are busy repacking the track.
